Cytomid 250 mg is an anti-androgen drug which is used to treat prostate cancer in combination with other medications. It is not made for use in women. Flutamide is sold under several trade names, some of which are Drogenil, Cytomid (manufactured by Cipla).
Cytomid 250 mg functions by hindering the antigen activity in the prostate gland in men, which inhibits tumor growth and also shrinks the tumor. Cytomid 250 mg is an anti-androgen. It works by interfering with antigen activity in the prostate, which stops tumor growth and allows the tumor to shrink.Strictly avoid taking Cytomid 250 mg if you are allergic to its active ingredient Cytomid 250 mg or any other ingredient, if you are female, or if you are suffering from a severe liver disease. Flutamide has been observed in rare cases to cause extensive liver damage leading to hospitalization or death. Immediately seek medical attention if you experience these symptoms while taking Cytomid 250 mg: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, unusual fatigue, appetite loss, symptoms of flu, yellow skin or eyes, itching, clay colored stools, or dark urine. These effects may signal early liver damage which if left untreated may lead to more severe liver damage.
Cytomid 250 mg intake may lead to diarrhea. Do not take laxatives on top of Flutamide medication, unless or otherwise directed by your doctor. If you do get diarrhea, consult your doctor or pharmacist to give you some medication for it.
