What is Lumigan Eye Drop?

Lumigan Eye Drop is a prescription medicine that treats eye conditions like ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. Both these eye disorders cause increased pressure inside your eyes.

Lumigan eye drop contains Bimatoprost and belongs to a class of drugs known as anti-glaucoma preparations.

When the pressure in your eye is too high, it can damage your eyes and cause blindness.

Lumigan eye drops are available at licensed pharmacies for purchase after a doctor’s prescription.

How does Lumigan Eye Drop work?

Bimatoprost in Lumigan eye drops helps to increase the drainage of fluids which is gathered within your eye. This further decreases strain on your eyes and treats elevated intraocular pressure.

How to use Lumigan Eye Drop?

Lumigan eye drop is suitable for both adults & children, and should be used under the supervision of the doctor. This medicine is for ophthalmic use only.

Depending on the patient’s condition, the doctor might prescribe Lumigan eye drops alone or in combination with other medicines.

Before using Lumigan, wash your hands properly. Instil a few drops of the medicine into your affected eye.

Close your eyes and press the corner of your eye with your finger for a minute after you instil Lumigan eye drops.

You should not touch the tip of the dropper with your eye or other body surface to avoid infection.

Apply Lumigan eye drops and leave a time gap of almost 5 minutes before you apply any other eye drops or ointment.

If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before you apply Lumigan and wait for almost 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Do not stop using Lumigan eye drops without consulting the doctor, as the pressure within your eye might rise again.
