Metrogyl 200 mg is a wide spectrum anti-infective agent used to treat Amoebiasis, Giardiasis, Trichomoniasis and anaerobic bacterial infections including in H.pylori positive peptic ulcers. Metrogyl 200 mg is also used to treat trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted disease caused by a parasite. Usually both sexual partners are treated at the same time, even if one has no symptoms. Metronidazole extended-release (long-acting) tablets are used to treat bacterial vaginosis (an infection caused by too much of certain types of harmful bacteria in the vagina) in women.
